New group anoyances.

As if we didn't have enough "so and so has been ejected from this group by me" messages now we got this. Why do we need to know this?

[13:38] Resident Name: Resident Name has left the group 'Group Name'.
[13:39] My Name: Gah i hate that message bug. It makes you alert EVERYONE that you left a group...
[13:40] Resident Name: >.< Yea it's a pain.

I'm very happy with 1.12. Just i think a new bug surfaced here. While were talking about it can LL get rid of it and the ejection message too? Most of us dont care who left or got ejected from a group. This info should be made available elsewhere for those who DO care.

I'll post it tonight, but thought I'd chime in here, that I've been getting them on a group that I'm an officer of, but not an owner.

Suggested bug fixes :

1) with regard to group ejection noticies : replace them with a logging system.
That is, create a new permission for groups "can view group logs", and keep logs for some configurable amount of time from 1 day to 1 year. Logs would be a new tab on the group screen. To ensure integrity, nobody should be able to edit logs, or remove them before their time expired.
The following should be logged :
* group joins (who joined)
* member leaving group (who left)
* group invite issued (sender,recipient)
* group member ejected (ejecter,ejectee,reason?)
* member assigned to role (assigner,assignee)
* member removed from role (remover,removee)
* duration that logs are kept is changed (changer,old value, new value)
This would:
* Stop spamming of the owners.
* Keep a more permanent record of what goes on.
* Log some things (like role assignments) which are much more important to know about than group ejections, and presently, impossible to trace.

2) fix group invites. I've submitted bug reports about how they don't work currently.

Suggested features :

1) "can start new group IM session", "can reply to existing group IM session", "can recieve group IMs" - should all be added to the group roles permission system. Reason: allows for large groups to PROACTIVELY PREVENT group spam, rather than simply responding after the fact.
2) "can override group mute" power should also be added. Anyone with this power has their notices and group IMs delivered regardless of client mute settings.
Reason : allows groups to be set up so that officers/admins can send announcements, and members can also chat... but members can use "mute" to mute the chat of other members without having announcements muted. It'd be a slightly less restrictive option than request #1.
3) Groups should have 'deny' boxes based on payment status just like land does. Stops people creating alts to spam groups, helps stop minors joining mature groups...
4) a "can create objects set to group" power. Would mean we could allow people in the land-owning group but still stop them from rezzing items that never get auto-returned!
5) Let objects which are set to group on no-rez land rez objects. Otherwise, various utility scripts like teleporters do not work on group-owned land with 'create objects' off. Thus, defeating most of the point of restricting 'create objects' in the first place.

Ok. it is odd. Il bug report it. My email inbox is gathering a few. hehe
