Heya guys,
This month has been quite depressing for me. 3 of my close family friends were diagnosed with various cases of cancer and they are now undergoing treatment. The emotional stress for their family has been great, on top of already restricting finances, and for once I am aware of how devestating such a disease have on the victim's family.
I wanted to do something to help and I managed to start a fund drive for these 3 families. (All 3 are from low income family). I wanted to extend the reach of the effort to SL and hopefully being able to establish a fund for various causes. However, I have little experience with charity work on SL and I would like to hear some ideas from various SLers and their views. Hopefully I will be able to do my part for them and maybe expand this project into a continous effort.
Many thanks. Kavai

Hey Kavai,
You may want to talk to RC Mars, otherwise known as Randy Moss, who works with the American Cancer Society. An in-world resident, Jade Lily, started a group about 18 months ago called Lindens For Life. As a group, we raised quite a bit of money during the Relay For Life campaign in 2004, and donated it to the ACS. This was more formalized in 2005 when Jade hooked up with RC, and became an official ACS event.
Its looking like this is quickly becoming an official yearly SL event, and you sound like a perfect candidate to join the team!
Regards,
-Flip
