Dude, you can't name names, either. No chat logs, and no names. Use forums.secondcitizen.com if you want to tell the whole story, since Linden Labs believes its better to protect assholes than be truly transparent.

Come on now, Cybin clearly explained to you why your thread was locked before.
/108/99/132214/1.html#post1246988 Private property. With english not being your first language, you still understand this idea I'm sure. Maybe it wasn't fair that he ejected you without telling you why but it is his right as the owner of the property. _____________________

well here in the US, where LL and secondlife is based you are only bound to the contract you deal with
you get mature land and dont break the TOS you can do whatever the hell you want being an assnugget or not is besides the point, they did nothing wrong yea yea you really didnt do anything wrong but thats whats great about it.. if they cheese enugh ppl off they wont be around long enugh to worry about btw this was a dubble/cross post that reopened a closed thread and you have been reported ... again in violation of the TOS quit while your ahead english may not be your native lang, but you seem to undersand it enugh to bitch so you (within reasonable doubt) should be able to figure out the TOS |

Unfortunate, yes. Unfair, maybe. (We didn't hear his side of the story, so we don't know everything.) Best thing is to go somewhere else.

Why people in SL use stupid power like RL ?! Hello everybody. (First of all, excuse my english, is not my first language) I have 2 months in SL and i really enjoy this world, meeting incredible people, discovering wonderful places, doing my pictures and my movies.... But I really dont know why people inside SL have the power to do everything, like a dictator. Today i went to a store calls Esalinus Market (Kkotsam 213, 93, 55 (Mature)) I arrived at 15:13 and 5 minutes later, when i was out of keyboard, the owner Carl Richard ejected and baned me without reason. Why this things happens? Why I need to tolerate that behaviour if I didnt do bad actions? In Live Help, Hermia Linden told me: That's unpleasant but unfortunately that's his right. Excuse me? That is a "right"? I dont agree. First of all, for me people like Carl Richard will be better is ejected of all lifes, because he has a very bad behaviour, and is better lost that people. Other reason is: Im here in sl to live, not to be rejected without reason. (Carl: Be a man and talk to me if you have a problem, dont use the 'ejected toy' like a child) Third reason: Im paying 9 dollars per month and do you belive that i pay for be ejected? I really want to know what think others residents with this kind of situations in sl. May be we need to build some code, some limits for this behaviours. Thank you very much for this space. Mars Ebi. Are you paying for the person who ejected you to be able to play? No. Are you paying for his server space? No. You're not paying for his land or his play, yes he has EVERY right to remove you, even if he just doesn't like you. Get over your sense of entitlement. |

It's true you don't have the right to do anything on other people's land, but the problem is that this kind of thing can bring about a kind of paranoia.
Last night I met up with a couple of friends who confessed they were a bit bored and wanted to "do something wacky". They came up with some suggestions, such as wearing girl scout avatars and selling freebie cookies, or that one person would wear an alien av and the others would "hunt" them with visual-only weapons and try to get others to join in. But all of them had to be called off because there was too much risk that someone would get offended (girl scout avatar? omg, ageplayer! alien hunters? omg, you have a gun!) and ban us from a parcel or two, which with ban linking (automatic or otherwise) and resellers preserving bans could wind up hurting us badly in unknown ways for an indefinate amount of time in the future. As it stands now, you can get banned from an empty garden lot, and then 8 months later it's got a new owner and has become the central store and meeting point for the New Big Thing In SL.. but you're still banned, because the new owner figured you must be a griefer because you were on the old ban list. We wound up hunting the alien on our own on some deserted parcels, but since there was no exploration or connection to anyone else it got dull rather quick and left one of the members, a relative newbie, wondering what SL was for if you couldn't have world-inclusive fun. Don't post answers to that question, I know there's plenty ![]() |

Don't post answers to that question, I know there's plenty ![]() There are still places where you can do that sort of thing, and with hunt the alien...well, I don't know if I'd have banned for that or not. Likely I'd have clicked on my move lock and taken the chance and said "Hello." to see what you were doing first, and only banned if I got shot. (As for the thing with the Girl Scouts, if you'd caught me on the ground, likely I'd have laughed my ass off, and probably seen what sort of tasteless "girlschout cookie" innuendos I could come up with on the spur of the moment.) Unfortunately, all of the griefers *have* made it hard for people to just plain have fun. I don't know, with the push restrictions, maybe people will eventually lighten up about the guns. I certainly hope so. |

I really want to know what think others residents with this kind of situations in sl. May be we need to build some code, some limits for this behaviours. Thank you very much for this space. Mars Ebi. You're missing the point that this person *also* pays for the land you were standing on, and considerably more than your $9. It sounds like you were standing in his business space, and in the way while you were AFK. Personally, I'd think that it was rude too if someone ejected and banned me from a store just because I'd gone AFK there, but it *is* his place and he has the right to allow or disallow anyone that he wants. Your $9 buys you the right to visit any Linden owned land, any piece of the sky above 700m and any owned piece of land or sky that people are willing to permit you on. That's *it*. This isn't a conventional game where all of the land is owned by the game company and is all game-play area. Instead, LL makes it's money by more or less leasing out the vast majority of it's space to individual users, and letting them do anything they want with it. That means that restrictions on what people can do with it, or *forcing* them to allow others to acces the land they're paying for would hurt their business. So, you can call for that all you want, but I'm afraid it's not going to do much good. It's your $9 and your wish to go everywhere unhindered, verses my $100 and my wish to have space that I can control access to. Which do *you* think is likely to win? |
