no good ones, but I saw some that were easy to spell
I made an alt a few months ago, and I was very pleased that LL had used famous authors as basis of their last names it seems liturature would be a great basis for last names, and I would encourage them to look into that further _____________________

Yes, some easy to spell. But seems like the list is SHORTER, too, than when I looked at it for myself!
Makes me newly appreciative of "Koala" and "Shortbread." coco _____________________

Ok, well, not just authors. Not everyone is a pseudo-philosopher, k?
How about some actors and actresses, or people who are 'heroes'? Like Le Ly Hayslip or my girl Margaret Cho XD. Im japanese, but Id be proud to wear the last name of my girl Margaret on the alt I wanna make if only they had a good name! -Ayame Sapeur ( I do like Sapeur, was going for something Japanese, but the only good one was Xinjian, and Im not Chinese, so I decided what the hell. But I did fall in love with my name ![]() _____________________

SL is vapid enough without Newbie Spears and Alty Pitt running around.
Give 'em long enough, though. That'll be coming too. So glad my name rocks. ![]() edit: That'll be the next us vs. struggle. "Old-ass users are the only ones who have good names! Ours are stupid and shallow and no one takes them seriously!" -- xxBritn3yxxxx Spears Oh yeah. It's coming. _____________________

OKEYDOKEY let's throw down the gauntlet and have a look figuring out where the current rounds of last names come from.
I know we have a DR WHO theme going... for example, Tardis (the timetravelling phonebooth), Pertwee, Eccleston, etc. And some literary authors too, which are not household names. Quasimodo = a famous hunchback dude, but also a poet... I think more peeps know the hunchy What other themes are in there? I haven't taken a close enough look. I think a prime thing here is a lot of the names are not American, and may very well appeal to growing cultures of international Resis. ![]() Like, one of my biological last names is "Chongsiriwatana". I can see many people saying "THAT'S UNUSABLE AS AN SL NAME"! Fair enough! So, "CHONG". Solzhenitsyn would prolly be the hardest for me to spell. But "Sol" would make a great last name. I still see a lot of short ones tho, altho it is a bit unusual no alphabetical ones after T. What else is in the current pile? _____________________

Ugh, ok Mister Genius. God I hate the types that think they know everything!
I said actors/actoresses. Not musicians. It's just that this is a game~! Stop making it first life! Honestly, how some of you elitist players go about acting like tihs is real life is just...dissetling. Britney Spears is a singer. And again, I meant GOOD actors/actoresses. Not Pitt, Aniston ( love ya! ), or Jolie. I meant ones like .... off topic but did they ever have Rand as a last name? Hm. I meant actors/actoresses like Fiona Shaw, Hiep Thi Le, Ingrid Bergman! .... Debra Messing ( Hey, shes so good ). But seriously, thespians, not them. And you knew what I meant. Chaya vurdandi mas illileri o baksheesh >.< -Ayame Sapeur PS We need Armenian names lmao! On topic, Cher was Armenian, so can we have Sarkissian as a last name as her work in film? _____________________

On topic, Cher was Armenian, so can we have Sarkissian as a last name as her work in film? chill it is just there is a difference between popular culture and art that transcends time. i don't know everything, and that actually lets me know everything I ever need to know... but i digress i just thought it was funny what that templeton boy said, wasn't basing my life on it this is just a socialized monetized platform, truthfully, some know-it-all socialized monotizers don't know the difference between the universe and the metaverse, how unnerving. And erm, ever hear of this turkey although I see your point, with a user rating of 3/10, Mrs. Federline is certainly no actress! o0O, Federline, a new last name ... _____________________

If you even want to mock my statement, I HATE BRITNEY SPEARS! I like Armor For Sleep, Greenday, Anti-Flag ( Love them Bush Bashin Lyrics ), Nirvana, Operation Ivy, The Donnas, System Of A Down ( Cause we need more Armenians in media =/ ), and RHCP. I HATE pop. And, that doesn't make her an actress. Thats like calling Victoria ..... the girl from Spice Girls an actress for Spice World. Ingrid Bergman IS permenant. As is Fiona Shaw. Shes a wonderful actress. And Hiep Thi Le did great work living out the story of Le Ly Hayslip in Heaven & Earth. And I don't talk o rly. It's that I just don't try to make myself sound smart. -Ayame Sapeur _____________________

Heh.. I wonder... maybe the Lindens should use the last name Raytracer... methinks that's a cool last name!
Maybe the Lindens should hold a poll to see which last names they pick are most favoured. And possibly take in suggestions for new last names from users. ![]() 'twould be an interesting idea. yupyup! _____________________

Heh.. I wonder... maybe the Lindens should use the last name Raytracer... methinks that's a cool last name! When I started BBS'ing back in the early-mid '90s, my handle was Sir Raytrace. ![]() At the time, I had just discovered POVRay and decided I would make raytracing "my thing". I ended up getting into computer music instead... go figure. ![]() _____________________
