If they remove the forums, we should all continue to submit bug tickets

Because an online gaming community without an outlet for knowledge, creativity and outright bitching is so rediculous that you will HAVE to call it a bug.
Simply retarded.
Makes one wonder why they are doing this. There has to be something sneaky going on. Dude was probably right when he said they are looking for a buyer for secondlife.

Sometimes I wonder if people forget that SL is one giant chatroom and knowledge database.

I don't even notice Wednesday morning downtimes. Then again, I have a JOB. Not that I'm implying anything.

Abusing the bug system isn't going to get you your way, and will be counterproductive.

From: Tren Neva That as well lacks productivity. So does closing the forums. They take away from the user base..I stop doing their work for them.

From: Jonas Pierterson So does closing the forums. They take away from the user base..I stop doing their work for them. Closing the forums isn't productive? I can't really think of a reason how. All scripting data bases are in wikipideas or in SL itself, as well as advertising. Really, I can't come up with one productive thing that the forums offer that isn't offered in SL or in a large 3rd party databse.

A wider selection of people responding to newbies with questions or those seeking others opinions. I don't know how many 'so I'm here, what do I do now?' posts I've personally answered. And theres a wider base answering than in help...

Can be done as easily or easier in SL, and there are groups dedicated to that. Even then, they will be keeping tech support forums open and such.

Really, I can't come up with one productive thing that the forums offer that isn't offered in SL or in a large 3rd party databse. How can you say this? Obviously all advertising isn't in SL itself. New products - especially for newer creators - isn't in SL itself. And the wiki is certainly no substitute for just asking the question in the forums. I know, because I have found myself wasting oodles of time in the wiki trying to find an answer in the unwieldy thing, only to discover the answer isn't in there. Whereas I post on the forums, and within MINUTES usually, some resident is telling me exactly what I need to know. In ENGLISH. As for all these things being done easier within SL, it is to laugh. coco

coco I'm sure asking a live help would of answered it in SECONDS. Anyways, point being once the forums close, new outlets will open. Those new outlets have the potintial to bring SL to a new level. tren

tren ROFLMFAO Have you every asked live help? Yes, if you're lucky, they'll answer you in a few mins. Sometimes it is even possible they can help. Yes, aah, those celebrated, but few occasions... Usually it's just empty your cache and relog... Much good that has ever done me... I've had to ask a lot about different things in crafting-specific forums, such as designing. Questions like, which tablet would you recommend using...how can I do this or that in Gimp...etc... What's you experience in doing this... I wouldn't be betting on live help to answer those... Or wiki.
