Did you order it from 1000 years into the future?

If not, it probably doesn't meet SL's system requirements.

My nvidia 6800gt does ripple water with no impact at all, im guessing most 6 series cards will be the same if only a small drop with the 6600's

I couldn't agree more. Add to that in the post specifically about dynamic pricing I find the line that states in effect the price paid will show how much the manufacturer cares about his/her product insulting. There are many manufaturers that do not make huge amount of money from their products either because they are just starting out or because they do not charge inflated rates. Has nothing to do with how much they care about their products.

I dont like that line either, personally and from my perspective seeing ads for various things in real life and dealing with various companies i tend to say its quite the opposite, the companies who often pay the most often care the least about the customers/quality and just shows they have money to throw about and/or have a dominant market position

exactly...just a different form of gaming the system. The top and bottom of the list will be easily gamed. Top by people willing to spend a fortune and the bottom by everyone. Pay 50L and reverse sort puts you at the top. Yep works for me (said in a very sarchastic voice).

So this means that 1.8 is not really 1.8 it's 1.7 the way it was supposed to be right?
I mean "ripply water" doesn't justify a full point release.

What other fantastic features are we getting? I would be happy if "1.8" just had the same level of performance speed and realiability as 1.6. I just dont want my performance to *drop* any more. It's getting really old. :(

Luckily they can still be sorted alphabetically, completely defeating the point of paying a different amount for your ad.

1.8 will have point to point teleport

improved land control scripted functions, ie a device can now be made to add someone to the parcels ban list, and that can be operated by not just the landowner. The same functions are available to the access list, ie pay 250$ for access for 30mins etc is now a scripted function

as well as ripply water and classifieds etc

I sincerely hope more people do this and more people refuse to pay 1L over the 50L minimum.

The best way to have fixed things in my opinion would be an honest to god search feature. So the customer could pull up all shoe adds for example.

Why drop lindens into an in-game classifieds system when you can post on the forums for free and without being considered "spam" if you only want to pay 50L to say "hey, i have new stuff"? Normally I see the widsom in what LL does, even if I don't like it. but that's just screwy.

As for 1.8 being released tuesday...excellent :D It's been the only SL preview i've ever been in to just outright WORK from the start.
