I apologize in advance if i am in the wrong forum for this thread...

I shop a lot and i spend a lot of lindens in second life. I have fun and i like to help the venders as much as I can as up till yesterday i was a basic account and I upgraded to premium. My problem was I cancelled my Basic account and tried to transfer my inventory to this new one.Knowing me i did it backwards but the problem was many of the items i bought and love i lost as they were non transfer.. I have favorite venders and don't mind if prices go up but also i give away a lot of clothes to people that need them... When i came to sl i was helped by many nice people.. is it possible to see when buying the item if it is non transfer? I am not a newb but have so much to learn and this was a good lesson... I lost at least 10,000 in inventory.. most of it boots and outfits from venders i love...any help will be appreciated...

I repeat I am not smart when it comes to the technical aspect of building/scripting but I do need help to keep me from losing all my stuff due to my own stupidity.. i dont have an alternate account so my basic one has been cancelled now...I have enuff trouble keeping up with one avatar...

thank you ...Torley Linden if you see this i didnt really mean the comment about the torley pop:)

Ouch. You will have to call Linden customer support.

What you should have done was to upgrade the satus of your Basic account to Premium. When you 'canceled' your account, you told Linden Labs you didn't want the account or its posessions any more. :(

No-transfer items can't be moved from one account to another. The only way to keep a lot of what you bought is to get your original Basic account reactivated, and upgrade that avatar to Premium.

Good luck!

I've resigned myself to replacing them but is there a way to see when i buy something if it is transfer? are there any other people in sl that have the same problem..sometimes i buy something and i dont like how it looks on my avie and i try to give it away to someone as i never return an item.. i dont mind no copy or no mod i respect people and the talent they have...and i will never sell an item i buy ever...I tell people where I shop... Thank you Ceera for your kind reply...

Hiya Rain.

If it's no Transfer it could be written in desciption when you scroll over the product, If not, Right click on the item you wish to buy ( Doesnt work from vedning machines) click edit, if you can't see the general tab hit the button that says more, If you see the general tab make sure your click on that, Right down the bottom underneath the price ect, is 3 little check boxes, Modify, Copy, Resell/giveaway, If there's no tick in the Resell/Giveaway box then its not transferable.

If at any time your uncertain and the product doesn't mention it, I would suggest IM'ing the creator/Designer and asking them what their permissions are for that product.

Hope this helps.

Most merchants try to indicate clearly the permissions on an item. In general, most clothes are either "Copy OK / No transfer" or "No copy / Transfer OK". You don't usually get both, because "Copy OK / Transfer OK" would allow you to keep a copy and sell or give away infinite copies.

For the most part, your less expensive stuff clothes and other items tend to be "Copy OK / No transfer", because it allows you to make copies of parts that can be used in multiple outfits.

More expensive clothes, where you would be more likely to want to sell it later rather then throwing it out, or outfits designed only to be used as a set, like a complete costume, will tend to be "No copy / Transfer OK".
