I was trying to buy an animation the other day and the vendor appeared to take my money without giving me the animation. When I looked at my transaction history it showed that I had paid myself, not the animation vendor. But I can't figure out how I could have done this by mistake. You can't right click on yourself to pay yourself money. As far as I can tell, you can only do it through your profile page. Has anyone else tried to pay a vendor and paid themself instead?

It might've just been a bad script on the part of the person selling the animation. Try to IM the person and see if you can let him/her know that it didn't work.

Or if you have large attachments on, like say wings, you might accidentally click on the tranparent part of them instead of the vendor. It's happened to me before, it depends on the angle your POV is looking from.

In some vendors, if you underpay, it just refunds you all that you attempted to put in. If you overpay, it refunds the difference.

Defective Vendor, it Happens all the time, Let the owner know, they will usually sell to you directly, and repair the vendor. Angel.

I know with our vendors, if anything goes wrong, it tries to detect that and pay the customer back. It usually happens very fast, if things aren't working, so your money may have 'bounced' back very quickly -- however:
the odd thing is that history showed *you* paying *yourself*; and not you paying the vendor's owner, and then the vendor's owner paying you. (as it would have appeared if it was a refund.)
That is kind of strange, and, though it probably wont make more than a ripple if that, probably should at least bug report it.

Yes, the fact that the payment is to myself and not a payment to the vendor followed by a payment back from the vendor is what strikes me as so odd. I wonder if the sim took the money from my account but had some hiccup and couldn't pay it to the vendor, so it sent it back to my account. Another strange thing that happened is that I got the old payment dialog where you have to specify the amount. I went back later and the vendor gave me the new fast-pay dialog. It seems like a bug in the sim and not in the vendor script. It's happened to me before, it depends on the angle your POV is looking from. But when you right-click on one of your attachments you don't get a 'Pay...' option, just edit, detach, and drop. I have accidentally worn things on my head by dragging onto a wing instead of the ground but I don't think you can pay yourself that way.
