Valid payment info message

I just tried to load up forums.secondlife.com in firefox, which I haven't used much lately, and I got a message saying you have to have valid payment info on file if your account was created after August 20th.
Is there a change in policy about payment info I failed to read about?
This doesn't affect me, I just wonder how that message jibes with the no verification policy.

If the SL login cookies expire, get removed, are misplaced by your browser, etc., it will ask you to log in.
Having to log in is one thing, being told to provide valid payment info for an account created after August 20 is another matter.

That was something I saw a few days ago. Apparently, you have to have payment info on file AND have an account created prior to 8/20/06 to access the forums anymore.
It seems like they are tightening the clamps on unverifieds, this is either good or bed depending on how you look at it... From my point of view it is good... if you are not a US account holder, it could be bad (paypal, CC, etc...)
Since the only forums that will be left are the content creation forums, this could be bad for people that sincerely want to create content and make SL a better place. Then again, it will also cut down on the number of "I want to make <whatever>, can someone give me a script" posts in scripting tips...

If LL is blocking forum access to not allow non verified members would that be because of all the Trash Talk that they have been posting, Is it because as soon as they Ban someone for Trash Talk they are back with another account? If this is the case then LL should remove the ban and allow all non verified members to have access to the forums, why you ask? Hummm let me tell ya. If we have to be stuck with these people in game with all the attacks a lot of the non player accounts are doing then why shouldn’t the LL forums be forced to allow them? Why is it ok for LL to say we are tired of you so you are not welcome here anymore but go play and harass people in the world that is ok?

I saw that also. I just re-entered my log in info and it was fine. I am a alt with no payment info on file.
