I have tried to search this out and with the limited abilities of the search features on this forum I haven’t had much luck. I have just acquired a small Island for my partner and I and my question is… Is there a way to give my partner the same access rites and land edit rites to the island as I have. I need for her to have access to everything the island owner has. I also need to do this while limiting these same abilities to other people that may visit the island. Can anyone can direct me to a link or help me answer this? Any help will be appreciated.

G'al volcano may be just the right rite to help you in this situation. ![]() |

Just to clarify, by "small island" do you mean that your property is on the mainland? I ask because all private island sims are the same size.

Sorry i didnt explain well enough. its a private island off the main grid. OK so you must be paying tier to LL, right? If so, then you can create a group, and deed the land to that group. You can then invite your partner as Officer of the group, and he/she will have the same access as you. Two things worth noting: Any Officer of the group can set the land to sell and run off with the cash, so make sure you only invite those you trust with this. You need three members for a group not to be disbanded, though they only need be a member, not Officer. _____________________

I thought PI owners could now add avs to a list of estate managers that allowed them full rights to all of the features other than IPL and raw file maintenance.
Am I misinformed? _____________________

There is no need to set the land to group. The island owner can simply choose estate managers and it gives them access to almost all of the estate tools. _____________________

Wait, I'll look surprised that About Land tools weren't included in the Estate Manager feature. It's not really surprising; but it's polite to pretend that such an oversight is acceptable.
I suppose you will have to deed the land to a group in order for her to have full access. In fact, it's probably required for her to be able to place Linden plants on the property. Heaven help us if this is how the metaverse is doomed to operate. _____________________

I mean for Jarod's sake, surely to goodness the devs had enough sense to code automatically created, transparent island groups that had full rights to the land so that assigned estate managers in fact just got added to the estate's group right? They have one of those that we all belong to so that they can properly manage their own estates.
It would've been couterproductive to write a whole new interface just to provide a simple feature, especially when the group code had already been proved effective for land sharing purposes. PLUS it would facilitate the odd feature being left out or not working properly for everyone so yeah come to think of it that's probably exactly what happened. Well never mind. _____________________

OK I thought this was land on the main grid? The term 'private island' has two very different common uses, hence my question to confirm either way. If it's on a private estate, then the resident need only invite their partner to be an officer of the group, and they will have full access to all the about land options. You would need to find out from your landlord/landlady if being an officer has any further implications other than using it as a land access tool. As far as the estate tools go: It's very unlikely that a landlord/landlady would allow them estate access. Offering estate access would allow the resident to change the land textures for the whole sim, ban who they wish from the sim, as well as return scripted items belonging to an avatar anywhere in the sim. That's all well and good if the resident is the only person in the sim, but most sims of course have a handful of residents, and giving access to tools that have a direct affect on everyone in the sim is not a great idea, for many obvious reasons. _____________________

I agree, it does seem crazy. If an estate owner is going to offer estate access to someone, you would have thought that the about land access would come with it. _____________________

I did add her as an estate manager but she couldnt right click and use about land OK ignore the part in the post above where I mentioned the landlady/landlord, you obviously have your own private estate sim. As Khamon has pointed out, you will need to create a group that you can deed the land to, and then be able to offer access to the about land tools via officer membership, unfortunately. _____________________

Ever the gentleman, aren't you, Khamon? But honestly, can you ever be too careful? They may look like innocent Linden plants to your green eyes but there are people around here wanting to plant free pot! Then what kind of riffraff do you suppose will be hanging around your island to stop and smell the roses? ![]() _____________________
