I like the new appearance of the world, although I see that another resident feels it makes the place look more 'cartoony'. But I like the more intense colours, and hope it will stay like this for a while.

I have noticed that the graphics seem better, and the colours more intense. Round about March a new version was brought in which made the graphics less contrasty and more subdued. When I queried the Lindens about it they denied that they had done anything to change the appearance of the graphics. Well, it now seems they haven't done something which brings the world back to looking the way it did before they didn't do the last thing.

I noticed that, too... the sunsets and sunrises especially are more intense. I like it... when I logged onto 1.7 for the first time, the first thing I saw was an intense sunrise. Really beautiful, and a nice way to begin my 1.7 adventures, even with all the texture problems.

I agree that it is brighter and more colourful. Another good thing is that we can see all the prim outlines in a selected object now. That's really really nice for a change.

Yup, I haven't noticed the "brightness" or "vividness" you're describing, the colors look the same to me but I thought it looked like things were a little sharper, maybe a little more high-contrast or something...
Then again, I'm immensely unobservant and miss little details like that all the time. ![]() Didn't they redo/redraw the environment map/images that make up our sky sunrise/sunset/ect? I vaguely remember reading that they had redone those and this is also a big part of what makes shiny look different now. They (both the new sky and shiny) look great to me! ![]() _____________________

Old timer

I used to play back in 1.5 and I have noticed a change with it looking more cartoon'ish. I miss the 1.5 look and feel. And there was never this much lag or problems. I can't even login because it crashes every time I try. I even have the newest Nvidia drivers.

I have never had any colour related problems like this in SL before, but now with every mini-update its like a changing rainbow on every prim in my vicinity! Not complaining but I sure hope they fix it. I am not old enough to need the blue rinse in my hair yet. ![]() _____________________

The camera no longer jerks around violently when editing and alt focused close up on a prim.

Really beautiful, and a nice way to begin my 1.7 adventures, even with all the texture problems. I noticed this, and didn't know I noticed it! I was very busy building something, and usually I get into "force sunset" mode pretty rapidly when I'm building, but I hadn't, and I noticed a very, VERY pretty sunset going on. Even stopped my work for a while just to take it in. I thought it was just me stopping to smell the roses for a change. In fact, though, the roses actually were notably different. coco P.S. I also noticed the clouds looked different - it was looking like a cloudy day, and we had a cloudy day here, and I was struck (while working) that the day in SL was an awful lot like the one irl. As for this "shiny" thing, I still don't know what it is, and don't think I can see it with my computer. (On the other hand, I can access the game with my computer, whereas people with more cutting-edge systems, like the person above, sometimes can't. So I'm grateful for that at least!) _____________________

Wowza, ReallyRick, maybe the RED SKIES are "normal" now? That's NICE!
I too like the more intense colors... that goes without saying, so I'll say it anyway. _____________________
