Question to Vendors

Resmods, feel free to move this one, but I tried it some time ago in the L/E forums with no responses.

Vendors, how do you keep track of sales? right now i go in once a week and download all my records into excel and i have some formulas that keep track of weekly revenues/expenditures and show weekly profits. Recently though, I was hoping to look at individual days and be able to look for trends and whatnot. Does anyone have an easier way to do this? Maybe some other program that you can export your sales into?

My avatar vendor is scripted to email me the details of every sale. Who bought what, when, from what sim, and whether or not it was a gift for someone else and who received it. I put all these emails in a folder on my harddrive, and have a CD burned for back up. I do that mostly for customer service. If someone wants a replacement or modification, I can search the reports for their name. No one has tried to scam me, but if they did I'd know. As for profit-related things, since I get one email for every sale, I know if I'm having a good day because my email client will say I have 10 new messages The website's transaction history isn't detailed enough for my needs.

My texture vendors and my clothing store vendors all e-mail reports to me for sales results. I also regularly download the excel dumps of transactions from the website.

I break it all out into a large Excel spreadsheet that tracks all my income and expenses, and tracks sales by location.

I just recently switched to networked vendors for my clothing sales, so now I can track how well each individual item is selling, too!
