Wait huh? What's wrong with asking for help? SL's learning curve is brutal and there's nothing much along the lines of tutorial. Heck there's not even a quick or simple way to figure out what you might want to do in SL.

Because there are so many new players?
There have always been new players posting their questions here.

WTF?
I've often seen exactly such posts here since I've been reading this forum. Which is only 2 1/2 months but still it's hardly new.
I could just as easily claim that downhearted newbies that think the forums are depressing are alts, eh?

If they are alts, why are they asking for help? Wouldn't alts typically be for older players that know how to work SL?

MOre than likely they are new players seeking help, that didn't realize there were forums to go to. But now with all the commotion about the Forums closing has probabaly clued them in to its existance.

Actually one of the best reasons to keep the forums... helping new players. In fact, that should be a subforum that is created and survives... "New Player Help"

From: Persephone Milk I agree completely. And I have no idea what the OP is even suggesting. Thinking of it only from the "evil" perspective Persephone, I would think they are implying that people opposed to the Forums closure decision are creating new accounts and posting "in need of help" threads to somehow prove the Forums are needed to whoever is reading. Like Cocoanut said, however, these posts have been commonplace since I joined and often when I went to reply someone had already beaten me to it because there is a very helpful community here about to be dispersed. And where will the starting point for these new residents be in the future? A random Third Party Forum link generated like the exit from Orientation Island? I certainly don't know, and am sure new residents will be frustrated by the fact that they will be reduced to random searches using Google to get help from a userbase that currently has a unified place and is willing and ready to use it.
