How gonna learn bout stuff like this? Then if you want to tell people about it, you can post your message at forums.sluniverse.com, forums.secondcitizen.com, www.slbbb.com/forum. If you want you can report it via email to abuse@secondlife.com and or use the inworld abuse reporter. Inworld abuse may not like dealing with something on a website but work sometimes involves doing stuff you don't enjoy, so too bad for them. _____________________

Just put "scam" in the Slexchange marketplace search. Then if you want to tell people about it, you can post your message at forums.slunivese.com, forums.secondcitizen.com, www.slbbb.com/forum. If you want you can report it via email to abuse@secondlife.com and or use the inworld abuse reporter. Inworld abuse may not like dealing with something on a website but work sometimes involves doing stuff you don't enjoy, so too bad for them. What exactly will LL do? The last I heard, they have no power whatsoever over SLX. If they are selling it in-world then LL can do something about it, but if it's in an SLX Magic Box then you will 1st have to know the location of that box, and even then what would make them take action? I do see your point though LOL. Does LL run interference with scam products that intentionally mislead the consumer? If so, I wonder how long they will do this until they are exausted from it and tell everyone to join arms and handle it offline. _____________________

What exactly will LL do? The last I heard, they have no power whatsoever over SLX. There is an abuse report in the police blotter RSS feed that reads: "Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in the region of Sandbox Goguen. Use of scripted object to steal $L. - Suspended 7 Days" A raffle ball scam might be treated in a similar manner as using a scripted object to steal L$. The abuse staff would have to decide what action they would want to take. Assuming someone bought the item and got reported for raffle ball scamming by someone who figured out no one was winning the raffle, the abuse staff might pay more attention to the report as a result of alerting them to object's availability on Slexchange. The main thrust of my response was that it is just as easy to report newsworthy items of any sort to third party sites as it is to post them to these forums. Just make a bookmark folder in your browser for sluniverse, secondcitizen, etc. Tell the sites to remember you if possible so you don't have to waste any time or effort logging in. Once you get your post written and proofed to your satisfaction, copy the text so that you can paste it into the next forum in your bookmarks. Hopefully there will be some improvement in the group functions when 1.12 gets maingridded, which should be this Wednesday, that will let groups be a better inworld communication system than they are now. Wouldn't get too hopeful about that though, until after I see it. _____________________

The item described is supposedly a scam raffle ball, that supposedly takes money from people under the pretext of having a chance of winning a raffle but really just gives the money to the objects owner. If used inworld this might be viewed as fraud by the object's owner. There is an abuse report in the police blotter RSS feed that reads: "Wednesday, July 26, 2006, in the region of Sandbox Goguen. Use of scripted object to steal $L. - Suspended 7 Days" Ah. Ty. _____________________
