A friend and I have recently joined, but we can't meet on screen. We've stood at the same place but can't see each other. Any idea why?

You can hear yourselves chat but can't see each other? Could be a glitch that makes your avatar invisible. Right-click yourselves and go into Appearance mode. It would refresh your client. You don't need to tweak your avatar. Just close the window. If it doesn't work... hrm, I have no idea. And welcome to SL!  |

Thanks The easiest thing for you to do would be to offer the friend to teleport to you wherever you are (one of the buttons in the menu at the bottom of your friends profile page). If you still can't see each other then you could try contacting Live Help.

are you using the same internet connection? If you are and using a router you need to go in and change your ports in your shortcuts that you use to get into game. Each one needs a unique target. There is info in wiki about this. I have to do the same thing here. In the target after the " at the end type a space and then type in -port 13001 then in the other compuer assign another number such as -port 13002
click apply and there you go.

I've had ongoing problems with the so-called "groups bug", which makes some people invisible. Click on your avatar and select "Groups" on the pie menu. Change your active group to something else, or "none", and that'll probably make the invisibles visible. Always seems to work for me.
Sure wish they'd fix that ...
