Closing the forums wont change anything..

..we will just end up starting a bazillion threads in all the wrong forums and prefixing the subject with OT.

Yes they can kick them all to the long grass, but keep it up for long enough and some bright spark might suggest the creation of forums for general and off topic discussion to keep the signal to noise ratio in the other forums high.
