This thread isn't about the morality of such things or about "does your first life partner know about it" but more about the weird comments I get. In first life I am married to a man but in second life I am married to a woman. To me it is no conlict of interest but sometimes I hear comments from males that go like this: "Hey you are married to another girl so I guess you are a lesbian" which I usually answer "No I'm not a lesbian I just happen to be in love with her." There is usually a period of silence before he says "I don't get it". I usually respond with "Thats OK there is nothing to get. Don't lose any sleep over it." Other weird comments, from males, are "Can I watch?" Is it that hard to understand how two people of the same sex can be second life partners and yet be straight in first life? After all this is only a game hehe.

Those kind of comments from guys are generic and I hear them too often. It is boring and trite. I like to say, "Bring me something new, please!"

My partner in Second Life is a goldfish.
I'm sick of all the stupid questions I get.
Iis it really so hard to understand that? Those crazy, narrowminded people really piss me off!!

You're sick of the stupid questions from the goldfish?
Have you considered divorce? Marriage counselling?

in Second life as with RL whatever catches your fancy go for it.
I think love goes beyond any border we humans set and yes even across the species border. So if you want to marry your goldfish go for it. 0r your same sex love of your life or that guy that's a ferret in a tiny submarine...
after all it's all human what's sitting behind the computerscreens. =^.^=
BTW the 'can I watch' question is easy to understand. i bet a lot of girls would love to see two guys making out too... =^.~=

I like to say, "Bring me something new, please!" i like to use a variety of answers, like "yeah, you can watch, as long as it's on tv" "yeah, you can watch my tail as i walk away from you" or "yeah, you can watch my foot connect with your butt for a narrow-minded question" and they seem to know what i'm talking about

-Ayame Sapeur<3 This is one of the funniest posts I've seen in the forums! Do you really think you "see what a person is truly like" in SL? In SL people pretend, they act, they might behave the way they do in RL, but they certainly don't have to. In SL I'm fairly quiet and do a lot of flips, somersaults, cartwheels. In RL that just ain't the case. LOL

If you want to combine it with your first life go for it but you may be sadly disappointed. Get a boob job and go to the personals websites.

In RL I'm married to a guy. In SL I'm married to a female panda. Seems simple enough to me!

As long as both partners (RL and SL) know and are are okay with the situation, then I don't see there's any issue. What other people react or think isn't important as what you think.

What other people react or think isn't important as what you think. You mean we need our first life's partners consent to what we do in second life? I don't think so..... I can see it now. I interupt my husbands watching of a football game to ask. "honey do you mind if I have carnal relations with a 20 foot tall dinosaur in SL?" The slap upside the head I would get would have nothing to do with the dinosaur I can assure you.

No. (-_-) somehow i'm wondering how my statement could be interpreted that way. To make things more clear and simple, If your partner thinks it's ok in a sense that he doesn't consider it as infidelity (considering that some people who view online relationships as cheating), then it's fine. No issues there. At the same time your SL partner will have to know that you're also attached especially if your having a serious relationship with said SL partner (hey it happens, if it's just 'pretend' wedding its fine). It's basically about Honesty when talking about relationships and trying to avoid doing things that might hurt other people.

From: Michael Seraph This is one of the funniest posts I've seen in the forums! Do you really think you "see what a person is truly like" in SL? In SL people pretend, they act, they might behave the way they do in RL, but they certainly don't have to. In SL I'm fairly quiet and do a lot of flips, somersaults, cartwheels. In RL that just ain't the case. LOL My experience, since the early days of UO, with the anonymity of the internet is that people's true personalities are amplifed to a great extent. Sorry but I don't believe most of the people you meet in SL are such impecible actors/actresses that they can be someone totally different in SL than in RL. Get to know someone well in SL, or any other MMOG where they have a high degree of anonymity, and I believe you get to know a purer form of the actual person. RL dampens and restricts us to a very large extent. Even those that claim not are restricted subconciously by aproval/disaproval of family and friends, by work retrictions by society at large and even by the physics of nature. VERY few of us manage to live RL outside of those restrictions. What you most often see in SL is a more clear view of a person where all of their hidden fantasies and desires come to the surface. A complete jerk in SL is almost certainly one in RL once the barriers come down. I hope you understand I'm not talking about superficialites like doing backflips while standing around. As for the original post I think that those that make rude, uncaring comments to her are exactly the same people that in RL would either; one, make the same rude comments or, two be to scared to least they get the crap kicked out of them. Either way the inner proclivity to rudeness is almost certainly still there.
